Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wear makeup after treatment?

No, it is not recommended. Patients with dermatitis often have a weakened skin barrier, which can cause even moisturizers and sunscreens to be absorbed excessively, leading to inflammation.
Since the skin barrier cannot regenerate effectively when inflammation is present, it is best to avoid wearing makeup during the treatment period if possible.

Should I abstain from alcohol after treatment?

It is not strictly forbidden. However, alcohol can worsen systemic inflammation and increase blood and immune cell flow to the skin, which can specifically exacerbate skin inflammation.
Since the skin barrier cannot regenerate effectively when inflammation is present, it is best to abstain from alcohol during the treatment period if possible.

Why should I avoid hot baths, saunas, strenuous exercise, and spicy food?

Baths, saunas, strenuous exercise, and spicy food increase blood flow to the skin. This also brings more immune cells to the area, which can worsen skin inflammation.

Is the treatment covered by private health insurance?

Yes, it is possible as the procedure is for therapeutic purposes.
Dermatitis is a condition covered by most actual expense insurance policies, and SkinCellon, used in treatment, is also applied according to its registered purpose with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
Therefore, payments are usually made without issue, but rarely, insurance companies may refuse payment, claiming that SkinCellon is only covered when exudate is present.
In such cases, if you argue that SkinCellon’s purpose is to “apply to skin with a damaged skin barrier to form a physical film, maintaining moisture in the skin environment to protect the skin,” and that it is not a product approved for use only when exudate is present, there has usually been no problem with payment.
Since insurance companies occasionally request photos of the lesions before treatment, we recommend taking photos of the affected areas in advance.

What is the frequency and interval of treatment? How many sessions are needed to see improvement?

Generally, treatment is performed once a week.
While exceeding one week does not significantly impact the outcome, it is advisable not to exceed two weeks if possible.
Most patients begin to feel improvement within 2 to 3 treatments at the latest.
Treatment typically concludes between 5 and 10 sessions.

My symptoms are very severe; can I still receive treatment?

Yes, generally, the more severe the symptoms, the better they respond to treatment.

What is the additional option, Excel V?

This is an additional option to improve noticeably dilated blood vessels (telangiectasia) associated with rosacea.

Can I receive treatment on the same day as my first visit?

Yes, it is possible. If you wish to receive treatment on the day of your initial consultation, please use the “Treatment Reservation” option on Naver Booking.

Does it hurt?

There is no pain at all.

Does the skin turn red after treatment?

When Sono is performed alone, redness is rare.
In exceptional cases where redness does occur, it typically subsides within a day.
When performed with Excel V, slight redness or scabs may occur.

How to Use and Store

  • Pour one and a half bottles of sterile distilled water into the mist container.
  • Since there are no preservatives, use within one week if possible, and do not use if the color becomes cloudy or it smells.

How to Use

  • Spray the mist approximately 5 times at least morning and evening (and frequently if possible), then cover with a plastic wrap for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Precautions

  • Covering with plastic wrap enhances the effect, but as the skin surface temperature rises, heat sensors (TRPV1) can be stimulated, potentially causing itchiness, stinging, or redness.
  • If symptoms are severe, apply an ice pack over the plastic wrap or use a fan.
  • If symptoms still worsen, do not use plastic wrap; only spray the mist.
  • If symptoms worsen even with only mist application, please send photos to the clinic.
  • Apply moisturizer after using the mist, morning and evening.
    • If you were not provided with a moisturizer, use your usual product.
    • Do not apply ampoules, toners, etc.; use only moisturizer.
  • If you have a prescribed ointment, apply it in the evening in the following order. Skip any non-prescribed ointments, and no time gap is needed between ointment applications:
    • Rozex Gel → Aklief → Soolantra → Elidel → Moisturizer → Protopic
    • Apply all ointments to the entire face, excluding the areas around the eyes and mouth.
    • Before use, please read the instructions for Aklief, Soolantra, Elidel, and Protopic.
